The National Park Service was initiated in 1916 to care for the National Parks of the United States. The National Park Service has grown from its first park at Yellowstone to currently include 63 official National Parks and 433 individual units found throughout the entire United States. There are 19 different naming designations, each of them referring to how the land is preserved and protected. The National Park Service are the greatest gift that we have as a nation that we give to all of our citizens and to all of our visitors. Any of the National Park System sites are my go to recommendation for anyone who is looking for somewhere to travel to across the United States.
