Otter Creek Beach, Lake Township, Michigan
Driving back from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Adrienne mentioned that we should try to find a place to watch the sunset. Since everywhere on the shore faces west, it seemed like an excellent opportunity to find a beach.

Our search for a beach took us to Otter Creek Beach, where we found many locals enjoying one of the last sunsets of summer. Locals watched the sunset from their beach campfires, lounge chairs, and with refreshments.

It was peaceful at Otter Creek Beach and a great place to watch the wonders of a sunset. Like everywhere in Michigan during the summer, I strongly recommend using bug spray if you will be outdoors for any length of time. If we had planned our trip to Otter Creek Beach a little better, we probably should have arrived about 30 minutes sooner to get the whole sunset experience. Beaches like Otter Creek are found throughout the Great Lakes, and I’m glad we stumbled onto this beach for a beautiful sunset to end a great day in western Michigan.
