Milford, Delaware
Slow-roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, and stuffing, the Bobbie is an excellent nod to Thanksgiving on a bun and provides a filling sandwich. The Delaware-founded Capriotti’s gained national fame when this sandwich was voted the best sandwich in America.

The Bobbie is delightful for several reasons. One, cranberry sauce is an underrated sandwich condiment, providing sweetness and tanginess in the same bite. Oven-roasted turkey is an excellent protein base for a sandwich. Surprisingly, the dressing is not provide for too much bread on a sandwich. Because it has a different texture and can be served with gravy, the dressing is a great complement to the turkey. The Bobbie also comes with mayonnaise, but I am not usually a big fan and was fine switching it for mustard.

A regular-sized sandwich can feed two people or provide for two meals. The sub I ordered in Milford efficiently served as lunch two days in a row. Eating a sub the following day reminds you of eating Thanksgiving leftovers and makes people of my generation more appreciative of Ross’s obsession with his sandwich.
Overall, the Bobbie is a great sandwich, and I like ordering it when I have the chance to stop in at a Capprioti’s. Capprioti’s makes lots of other sandwiches; Adrienne is a fan of their cheesesteaks. If I lived closer to a Capriotti’s, I would order something different, but it’s hard to top the perfection of the Bobbie.
